Arrangements for Mass attendance on 12th/13th and 19th/20th September 2020

(Issued: 10th September 2020)

Fri 18.Sep: Following the Government announcement on Friday evening, public Masses will not take place in the church for at least the next three weeks.

Mass will continue to be celebrated, and can be viewed on the parish webcam

Dear Parishioners,

The obligation to attend Mass has been lifted for now and especially if you are in ill-health or susceptible to the coronavirus you should not attend, both for your own safety and the safety of others. In an effort to ensure the safety of all the congregation everyone attending Mass (with the exception of very young children) should wear a face mask or the special visor. Please be careful to ensure your own health and the health of others.

The Masses for your area will rotate over a four week period over the four times; this means that your area will be allocated the 9:30 a.m. Mass as Gaeilge every fourth Sunday. Last weekend we had to put up 'Church Full' signs at the 11:00 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Masses on Sunday and we were less than 10 short of doing the same at the Saturday evening Mass. The Irish Mass (9:30 a.m.) however had only 50% capacity. We would ask people therefore to consider attending the Irish Mass. We don't want to turn people away from attending Mass but when the church is full and in compliance with social distancing, we have no choice but to obey the law. Please come to Mass early and ensure that you are socially distant outside the church both before and after Mass.
