Fr Richard Behan's message

"I am sure it came as a surprise to most of you to hear of the death of Canon Battelle on Sunday 29th January 2012.
After an initial recovery his health declined rapidly and it soon became evident that he could not live for much longer.
Thanks be to God the Lord called him home to eternal happiness before any operations took place.
May I thank all of you who gave so generously of your time and energy in the work around his funeral.
Your hospitality and welcome were warmly appreciated by his family and friends and indeed the Archbishop and priests of the Diocese.
We give thanks to God for nearly 20 years of dedicated service by Canon Battelle to the parish of Ballinteer.
In that time he touched many lives by his priestly dedication. May God reward him for his goodness".

Fr. Richard
